Memorial reference held for late Allama Muhammad Miraj-ul-Islam

A memorial reference was held yesterday under the banner of MQI in the memory of renowned researcher, teacher and religious scholar Shaykh-ul-Hadith Allama Muhammad Miraj-ul-Islam.

Addressing the memorial reference, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founding leader of MQI, said that knowledge-friendly and knowledge-creating personalities are the special blessings of Allah on earth. He said that Allama Miraj-ul-Islam was one of such rare personalities. He was a saintly and very noble human being who continued to teach the Quranic and Hadith sciences till the last breath of his life.

Dr Qadri said that the hundreds of students quenched their thirst for knowledge from him. He said that late Allama sahib spread the message of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Allah Almighty with sincerity of heart and the best of his intentions, adding that he was a true incarnation of simplicity, patience, and gratitude. He expressed his heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family of Allama Miraj-ul-Islam and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.

Speaking to the memorial ceremony, Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Allama Miraj-ul-Islam was counted among those scholars and pious people who would enlighten their own selves with the light of the Quran and Hadith before spreading its light to others. He said that Allama sahib not only acquired the knowledge of the Quran and Hadith, taught it but also moulded his life accordingly. He said that he reflected great blessing that Allah Almighty bestowed on him.

Sons of Allama Miraj-ul-Islam namely Misbah-ul-Islam and Waqar-ul-Islam, attended the memorial ceremony on special invitation. Those among the prominent participants in the ceremony included Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Allama Ihsan-ul-Haq Siddiqi, Mufti Badruz Zaman Qadri, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi, Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi, Dr Khan Muhammad Malik, Prof Nawaz Zafar, Dr Ali Akbar Al-Azhari, Dr Muhammad Akram Rana, Dr Mumtaz Sadeedi, Ambreen Sofia, Arooj Fatima and Fatima Noor.

Addressing the ceremony, Mufti Abdul Latif Sialvi, president of Zia-ul-Ummat Foundation, said that in addition to being a religious scholar, Allama Muhammad Miraj-ul-Islam was personification of knowledge.

Prof Nawaz Zafar said that Allama sahib had dedicated his life to study of the Quranic and Hadith sciences. He said that decency, piety and nobility were his distinguishing qualities. He had a special relationship of affection with his students.

Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi said on the occasion that Allama Miraj-ul-Islam was an unfathomable sea of knowledge and his personality was immersed in the love of Allah and His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Muhammad Afzal Qadri said that late Allama Miraj-ul-Islam was an author of 24 published and unpublished works.
