MWF holds prayer ceremony to mark anniversary of earthquake 2005

The unprecedented earthquake of October 8, 2005 reversed the journey of development spread over six decades within a few seconds. Though six years have gone by since the earthquake on this day swept through Pakistan and jolted the entire northern region, yet the images of destruction and havoc caused by it still remain fresh in our minds.

‘Peace for Humanity’ Conference was held in historic Wembley Arena under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK on September 24, 2011. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri presided over the Conference, which was also attended by human rights and peace activists, religious scholars, opinion leaders and key leaders and followers of Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism.

I am pleased to send greetings to the Minhaj-ul-Quran International Peace for Humanity Conference. Your activities are also relevant to global efforts to respond to the threat posed by terrorism. Muslims have been among those hardest-hit by this scourge. At the same time, a very small minority of Muslims have perverted their faith to justify heinous acts, prompting calls for Muslims to condemn terrorism and suicide bombings. These calls have been answered in part by your founder, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, through his historic Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings.
Gathering of Muslims in UK denounces violence

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has exhorted Muslims to follow the path of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), His family and His companions and not the “destructive” path Osama Bin Laden, of Al-Qaeda and its affiliate extremist organisations. Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was speaking to a mammoth crowd of around 12,000 people who had travelled from all corners of UK at the Wembley Arena on Sunday to hear the Minhaj-ul-Quran International issue a global declaration against extremism and terrorism at the Peace for Humanity conference.

More than 12,000 UK Muslims are expected to attend a ‘Peace for Humanity’ conference at Wembley in London today organised by Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI), a broad based Islamic organisation representing a moderate vision of Islam, working for peace and integration.
MQI leader calls on Chief Minister of Punjab

Dr Khawaja Muhammad Ashraf, patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran Sindh, called on Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. This meeting took place in Karachi on August 27, 2011 during the Chief Minister’s visit to the provincial metropolis. Different issues came under discussion during the meeting. Khawaja Muhammad Ashraf gifted Punjab CM ‘Irfan-ul-Quran’ and Fatwa against Terrorism. S.M. Munir, a renowned industrialist and former president of Pak-India Chamber of Commerce, was also present on the occasion.
Seminar on containing extremism held under MRC Norway

Minhaj Reconciliation Council (Norway) arranged a prestigious seminar in Oslo on the subject of “How to contain extremism?” on September 3, 2011. Shaykh Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, chairman of WAAG Pakistan Branch, was the guest of honour on the occasion. This unique program in the Norwegian history was organized with the cooperation of Police and Justice Departments.
MWF kick-starts relief campaign for flood affectees of Sindh

The torrential rains have hit many parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Sindh and Balochistan in last two weeks. The province of Sindh happens to be the worst hit by these rains, with millions of people rendered homeless, crops washed away and deaths of many people. There are now fears that epidemics are likely to break out in the absence of any effective medical system in the flood-hit areas.
