German TV Channel ZDF organizes a Live Program for flood affected in Pakistan

Hilfe für Pakistan (Help for Pakistan) was the Motto of this Program, which was organized and live transmitted on German TV 26.08.2010 at 20:15 Hours. The program was conducted by Peter Frey (Chief editor) and Mr. Markus Lanz. From the Pakistani community Minhaj-ul-Quran International Berlin was represented through Mr. Faiz Ahmed (President), Mr. Nadeem Shah (Sr. Vice President), Mr. Mohammad Irshad (General Secretary), Mrs. Naheed Imran (representing Minhaj Women League).
MQI’s volunteers leave for flood affected areas

After the cancellation of Itikaf 2010 which has been held for last 20 years under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, hundreds of people, who were to attend the Itikaf City, left for the flood affected areas on the special instructions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. These volunteers took part in a one-day training camps held in Lahore, Faisalabad, Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi and Abotabad, and left for the flood hit areas to serve the flood affectees.

In the wake of unprecedented floods that have wreaked havoc across Pakistan besides rendering 20 million people homeless and causing damages of billions of dollars, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has declared to cancel Itikaf 2010. The Itikaf has been held annually for last 20 years under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, which is attended by thousands of people.

Minhaj Welfare Foundation dispatches 7 more trucks to the flood affected areas

Minhaj Welfare Foundation has dispatched seven more truckloads of relief goods of worth Rs. 5.5 million to Noshahra and the Southern Punjab. Three trucks from Lahore, one from Wazirabad and rest of the three from Pakpattan have been sent to the flood hit areas.

The Minhaj Welfare Foundation continue unabated in the flood hit areas. Ten more relief and rescue operations of trucks of relief goods have been rushed to Noshahra. The relief items consist of beds, tents, bottles of mineral waters, flour, rice, and other necessities of life. This ‘Help Caravan’ of Minhaj Welfare Foundation set of from Lahore on August 13.

Interfaith prayer for peace held

The National Commission for Inter-Religious Dialogue and Ecumenism (NCIDE) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Minority Affairs conducted an “Interfaith Prayer” for Peace in Pakistan on Saturday, 7 August 2010. The commission prepared a documentary on the recent crisis in the country where floods, hunger, misery, political and ethnic violence and negligence are taking their toll on the people. The first candle for peace was lit after the documentary.

MWF has set up ‘Minhaj Tent Settlement’ in Noshehra, which has accommodated more than 1000 people. All residential facilities are being provided to the residents in a befitting manner. Due to low standard food items and contaminated water, diseases of different kinds are spreading in the camps set up by the government.

Football Tournament in Aid of Orphans

DOZENS of youngsters put their skills on the pitch in a Football Tournament in aid of orphans around the world. 112 youngsters played football at Power League off Jenkins Lane in Newham to help raise money for orphans. Teams consisting of seven players each played for four hours with semi-finals and finals played on the same day. The Summer Football Tournament was held on Saturday 31st July 2010. Youngsters participated from across the London Boroughs of Newham, Barking & Dagenham and Waltham Forest.

Giving details Iftikhar Shah Bukhari said 700 people have been accommodated in 10 camps who are being provided with necessities of life. Relief truks have been sent for Rajan Pur and Taunsa Sharif. He said that huge tent settlement have been established in Karor Lal Esan, Layyah and Essa Khail and relief goods have also been sent. MWF has also set a relief camp in Bhakkar.

Minhaj Welfare Foundation Establishes Special Fund for Flood Affectees

Minhaj Welfare Foundation has launched its relief and rehabilitation operations to help the flood affectees who are stranded in water following massive downpour that hit parts of Punjab, Khyber Pukhtunkhawa and Balochistan. A special fund with the initiation amount of Rs 5 million has been established in that regard.

Minhaj Women League organizes Islamic Learning Camp

By the grace of Almighty Allah and the blessings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) the Minhaj-ul-Qura’n Women League organized a 7-day Islamic Learning Camp to train young sisters on both spiritual and moral bases. On the first day of this camp almost 200 sisters from all over Pakistan joined this camp. The proceedings started with recitation of verses from the Holy Qura’n followed by a beautiful Nasheed and Darood-o-Salam.

Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, acting Secretary General of MQI, said on the occasion that Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Minhaj-ul-Quran International stood side by side with media whenever it faced the governmental wrath. He asked the media to stop promoting the corrupt politicians and pave the way for emergence of pious but competent leadership, saying that media was playing the role of parliament while the latter was mum over grave national issues.
