Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri addressed a spiritual gathering held at the central secretariat to mark the Shab-e-Barat event through video link. Thousands of people from various walks of life including religious scholars attended the spiritual gathering. Dr Qadri said that in order to be deserving of Allah’s help, the Muslim Umma should speak truth, do justice and stand by the oppressed. He said that those who take the lives of innocent people remain deprived of the spiritual blessings on the blessed occasion of Shab-e-Barat.
Minhaj ul Quran Women League, Haripur arranged an "Organizational Training Workshop" on 14th May. Mrs. Gulshan Irshad addressed the participants and emphasized on the constitution of a strong team and strong network. Ms. Anila Ilyas explained working and aim of "Zarb-e-Amn campaign". Miss Aisha Qadri also shared her views regarding the organizational work with the team members. These training workshops are part of the peace initiative Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri launched to promote peace and harmony in the society.
A delegation of PAT led by senior leader Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri called on former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani at his residence in Lahore and congratulated him on behalf of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and the party on the safe return of his abducted son. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Khawaja Amir Fareed Koreja, Noorullah Saddiqi, Fayyaz Warraich, Raja Zahid, and Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam were other members of the delegation. Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani and his son Ali Haider Gillani thanked the PAT leaders for coming to visit them. Matters relating to Panama leaks and the current political situation of the country came under discussion during the meeting. Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri invited the former Prime Minister to attend the Martyr’s Day ceremony on June 17.
The 12th annual mass marriage ceremony was held in the playground in front of the MQI secretariat on April 3, 2016. Twenty-five Muslim, Christian and Hindu couples tied the knot in the ceremony. Necessary household items of worth Rs. 1.5 lacs were gifted to every bride. The proceedings of the mass marriage ceremony got underway with the recitation of the holy Quran followed by Naat.
Minhaj-ul-Quran Victoria organised the Night of Salvation this evening at Mount Cottrell which was attended by hundreds of members of the community. Dr Hussain Qadri explained the stages and procedure and several dimensions of repentance. He said that repentance is the true migration towards Allah and that the 15th of Sha`ban is the night to repent collectively for all the sins man has committed. He also led the collective Duaa which was very emotional and resulted in participants shedding tears as the Duaa extended.
