Minhaj Welfare Foundation steps up its relief operations
Minhaj Welfare Foundation has set up Minhaj Tent Settlement for 500 flood affectees
in Noshahera and launched ‘Johli Pehlao’ campaign from today onwards for the help
of the flood affected people. ‘Help Caravan’ would start its journey from Lahore
on Saturday and would reach Noshahera by passing through Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jehlum,
Gojar Khan, Rawalpindi and Islamabad where relief goods would be distributed among
the people.
Iftikhar Shah Bokhari, senior Deputy Director of Minhaj Welfare Foundation, expressed
these views while addressing a press conference along with G.M. Malik, and Irshad
Tahir in the MQI central secretariat today. He said that Minhaj Welfare Foundation
is the only organization which took the lead in relief operations. The trucks carrying
relief goods have already reached Layya, Karor Pakka, Isa Khel, Rajan Pur and Noshahera.
He said that MWF has accommodated more than 3000 affectees in different camps throughout
the country where they are being provided with necessities of life. More than 3000
workers of the Foundation are busy day in and day out in collecting relief goods
and donations in the country. Iftikhar Shah Bokhari appealed to the affluent sections
of society to come forward and join hands with MWF for the mitigation of the sufferings
of the stranded brethren.
