Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, president of Federal Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the government is not serious in stemming the wave of target killings in Karachi out of political considerations. The preference of political interests over national ones by the ruling elite was condemnable. He said that the raging flood and heavy rains already caused huge damage in man and material across Pakistan. Hundreds of thousands of people got displaced. It was about time when political leaders across political divide should have demonstrated unity and acted in unison to mitigate the sufferings of the people stranded in water. He deplored that the politicians failed to rise to the occasion once again. He said that the killing of MPA of a local party was reprehensible but it could not be used as a justification to kill another 45 innocent people besides causing huge damage to the property and suspending life.

He expressed these views in a statement issued by the Directorate of Media here. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that had government not condoned these actions out of political considerations, it could have deployed rangers and army and ordered it to shoot at sight. Such timely act would have saved numerous lives and valuable property from being destroyed. He said that every life has similar sanctity.
