Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri condemns bomb blasts in Peshawar and Islamabad
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has condemned the terrorist attack
in Super market Peshawar and Islamabad in the strongest possible words. He asked
the government to acknowledge the seriousness of the matter and perform its duty
of eliminating terrorism from our midst. He said that dubbing the narrative in terms
of merely terrorism tends to belittle the enormity of the national security challenge.
The non-state actors, he said, have launched an open war against Pakistan and its
people and continuation of attacks on military suggests this in no uncertain terms.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to Dr Raheeq Abbasi
on telephone from Canada today. Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that terrorists are neither
Muslims nor humans. They do not belong to any country or religion. A handful of
terrorists would not be allowed to impose their narrow-minded and bigoted agenda
on the peaceful majority of the Muslims and Pakistanis.
He said that the terrorist incidents need to be looked at holistically and not
in isolation, which seem to have a distinct pattern of decentralized urban warfare.
He further said that the entire nation stands fully united behind its valiant armed
forces in this fight for country’s future and survival. He demanded of the stakeholders
to revisit the national security doctrine in the light of new and innovative challenges
and make necessary modifications to fight off the evil menace. He said that new
security doctrine must also address diplomatic, political, security and information
challenges.
