Hard decisions needed to restore peace in Karachi: Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Dated: 11 July 2011 MQI on FB

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has expressed his deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi, saying those involved in target killings are animals. He said that if tough steps are taken to arrest the worsening situation by discarding political expediency, there is no reason why Karachi cannot become a peaceful city. He said that it is the prime responsibility of the provincial government to maintain law and order as it is the topmost responsibility of the state.

These views were expressed by Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri while talking to G.M. Malik on phone from abroad.

He said that the unending wave of terrorism has shaken the economic foundations of the country and the country’s image stands battered in the comity of nations. He said that the Pakistani expatriate community is perturbed over the situation in Karachi. Those who have perpetrated crimes against humanity are the criminals who need to be made an example. He asked the political parties to expel the black sheep from their ranks. Pakistan, he added, is our home and we must not allow the anti-state elements to put it on fire.

Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the government needs to take hard decisions in the larger national interests. He said that Karachi is a mini-Pakistan as it represents people of all ethnicities and backgrounds. “The political parties need to make concerted efforts in this regard too,” he concluded.
