Samaa News: Qadri to delineate next move Monday

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri says he will announce his next move tomorrow (Monday) evening as his party's anti-government protest has reached its final stage, Samaa reported.

"Tomorrow evening, I will let you know when you leave here so you shall stay put until further orders", Qadri directed especially those followers, who had joined the sit-in at the weekend and were supposed to leave by Sunday evening.

Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and populist cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri have gathered thousands of supporters in Islamabad since August 14 calling on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign over what they claim was massive rigging of the 2013 election.

Apart from the permanent sit-inners, a large number of visiting protestors from the twin and nearby cities are always arriving and leaving the sit-in outside the parliament building.

The PAT leader said that the revolution, which his followers had fueled with their blood, was about to be brought about.

"Our struggle has entered its last leg. It's only a matter of days", the populist cleric said reassuringly.

His ordering his followers to stick around at the protest demo until Monday evening holds subtle significance, analysts say.

"The long-drawn-out stalemate is taking a terrible toll on the nerves of both protestors as well as government and there a likelihood that, out of frustration, both the parties could take desperate measures", said another political pundit.
