Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri reaches UK

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has reached United Kingdom to participate in an upcoming Peace and Integration Conference being organized under the aegis of Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK. On his arrival at the Heathrow Airport, the office bearers of MQI UK that included Dawood Hussain Mashahadi, as-Shaykh Abu Ahmad Sherazi, Allama Muhammad Sadiq Qureshi, Haji Abdul Ghafoor, Ishtiaq Ahmad Qadri, Naveed Ahmad Qadri, Dr Zahid Iqbal, Haji Ghalib and other leaders rolled out a red carpet welcome to their beloved Leader.

Talking to the journalists at the Heathrow Airport on June 24, 2009, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the Pakistan nation supported all steps being taken for elimination of anti-Pakistan conspiracies and those involved in planning such heinous activities. People strongly and resolutely stood behind their military in its endeavours to root out terrorism and extremism from the country. He said that terrorism had nothing to with Islam and such elements claiming to represent Islam were in fact enemies of people. The martyrdom of Mufti Sarfraz Ahmad Naeemi was the first major step to fan the feelings of sectarianism which the Pakistani people foiled with wisdom.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri demanded of the government to complete military operation as soon as possible in NWFP and tribal areas and make arrangements for rehabilitation of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). He said that winning the hearts and minds should be an important plank in the counterinsurgency operations. He further emphasized that it was the responsibility of the incumbent government to redress the grievances of people of NWFP and Balochistan and provide them equal opportunities of employment, education and health. Shaykh-ul-Islam will deliver keynote speech in Peace and Integration Conference in London.
