Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expresses grief over the death of Ajmal Khattak

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, founding leader and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has expressed his deep grief and heartfelt sorrow over the sad demise of Ajmal Khattak, a veteran politician and former Secretary General of Awami National Party (ANP). Ajmal Khattak breathed his last on Sunday (February 7, 2010) in Akora Khattak after a prolonged illness. Mr. Khattak was 85 years old.

In his condolence message from Canada, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri paid rich tribute to the services of Ajmal Khattak. He said that late Ajmal Khattak stood for democracy and human rights and that he was a courageous politician. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in peace.

It should be kept in mind that both Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and Ajmal Khattak were well known to each other and worked together at the platform of Pakistan Awami Ittehad (PAI) in 1998, a multi-party opposition alliance which was headed by Shaykh-ul-Islam.
