The Legacy of Imam Hussain (AS) Is a Message of Justice, Patience, and Steadfastness: President of MQI

Dr Hussain Mohiuddin Qadri Muharram Message 2026

President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, has stated that love for the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) is an integral part of faith and an essential expression of love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He said that the Holy Qur'an and the Prophetic traditions accord a distinguished status to the virtues and merits of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). Therefore, it is incumbent upon the Muslim Ummah to incorporate their teachings into both individual and collective life.

He further said that love for Imam Hasan (AS) and Imam Hussain (AS) is, in reality, an expression of love for the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He urged the younger generation to model their lives on the noble character and illuminating teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), so that a righteous, peaceful, and morally upright society may be established.

The President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International said that the blessed life of Sayyiduna Imam Hussain (AS) offers humanity profound lessons for all times. Through his exemplary character and teachings, Imam Hussain (AS) demonstrated that truthfulness in speech, helping those in need, good manners, repaying kindness with kindness, maintaining family ties, fulfilling the rights of neighbours, giving people their due, extending hospitality, and embodying modesty and dignity are the true hallmarks of genuine religiosity.

He added that in the plains of Karbala, Imam Hussain (AS) made the ultimate sacrifice for the supremacy of Islam, leaving the Muslim Ummah with an enduring lesson in truth, justice, patience, steadfastness, and unwavering commitment to principles. He did not merely teach Muslims how to die for their faith at Karbala; rather, he taught them how to live their entire lives in accordance with the teachings of Islam.

Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further stated that the beloved grandson of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) remained steadfast in offering Salah—the magnificent gift bestowed during the Night Journey (Mi'raj)—until his final moments. He said that courage and bravery, coupled with humility, compassion, piety, devotion to worship, and love for the Qur'an, constitute the true message of Hussainiyyah.

He observed that the tragedy of Karbala will forever remain a beacon of guidance for those who stand for truth in the eternal struggle between truth and falsehood. Imam Hussain (AS) and his devoted companions refused to bow before tyranny, leaving future generations with a timeless legacy of honour, dignity, perseverance, and steadfast commitment to speaking the truth.

Concluding his remarks, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri emphasized that, in today's world, it is more important than ever to acquaint young people with the true message of Karbala so that values such as justice, integrity, tolerance, brotherhood, and respect for humanity may flourish in society. Introducing the younger generation to the noble teachings of Imam Hussain (AS) and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), he said, is one of the most pressing needs of our time.
