MQI Holds Prayer Ceremony in Memory of Muhammad Waseemuddin Sheikh

Distinguished Speakers Pay Tribute to the Religious and Organisational Services of Hafiz Aminuddin Qadri and Muhammad Waseemuddin Sheikh

The Council of Founding and Senior Members of Minhaj-ul-Quran International organised a prayer ceremony at the Minhaj Institute for Qirā'at and Qur'an Memorisation (Aghosh Complex) to convey Īṣāl al-Thawāb (prayers for the departed) for the late Muhammad Waseemuddin Sheikh, a senior member of Minhaj-ul-Quran and the son of the late Hafiz Aminuddin Qadri, former President and founding member of Minhaj-ul-Quran International.

The ceremony was attended by senior leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran, religious scholars, teachers, students, workers of the movement, and members of the bereaved family.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Najm, Director of Public Relations Shahzad Rasool, Principal of the Minhaj Institute for Qirā'at and Qur'an Memorisation Muhammad Abbas Naqshbandi, and other speakers paid rich tribute to the religious, organisational, social, and humanitarian services of both Hafiz Aminuddin Qadri and Muhammad Waseemuddin Sheikh. They described their contributions as an enduring and distinguished chapter in the history of Minhaj-ul-Quran.

The speakers noted that Hafiz Aminuddin Qadri was among the earliest companions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and played a pivotal role in the establishment, consolidation, and expansion of Minhaj-ul-Quran and its mission. They observed that his entire life was devoted to the service of Islam, organisational development, Islamic education and training, and the welfare of humanity.

They further stated that Muhammad Waseemuddin Sheikh faithfully followed in his father's footsteps, maintaining a lifelong commitment to Minhaj-ul-Quran while rendering valuable religious, social, and organisational services. His passing, they said, is a significant loss not only for his family but also for the wider Minhaj-ul-Quran movement. They also recalled that he was the son-in-law of the late Shafi Sarfraz, a founding member of the organisation and its former Director of Construction.

In his address, Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Najm remarked that the services of both deceased personalities would always be remembered. He said they dedicated their lives to the service of Islam, the Muslim Ummah, and humanity, adding that their sincerity, loyalty, exemplary character, and unwavering commitment to the faith would continue to inspire future generations of workers.

Muhammad Abbas Naqshbandi and Shahzad Rasool stated that Hafiz Aminuddin Qadri and Muhammad Waseemuddin Sheikh were invaluable assets of Minhaj-ul-Quran. Their organisational commitment, noble character, sincerity, and sacrifices, they said, would always remain a source of inspiration for members of the movement.

Among those present were the late Muhammad Waseemuddin Sheikh's sons, Dr. Muhiuddin Sheikh and Hafiz Saeed bin Nauman, along with other members of the family. A large number of teachers and students from the Minhaj Institute for Qirā'at and Qur'an Memorisation also attended the ceremony.

The gathering was also attended by senior leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran, including Noorullah Siddiqui, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Colonel (R) Khalid Javed, Haji Muhammad Ishaq, Abid Bashir Qadri, Syed Khalid Hamid Kazmi, Qari Khizar Zeeshan Naeemi, Qari Inamullah Naeemi, and Zaid Muhiuddin Qadri, who offered their condolences to the bereaved family.

The ceremony concluded with a special prayer led by Allama Ashfaq Chishti, Nazim of Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council. He prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased, the elevation of their ranks, their admission to Jannat al-Firdaws, and patience and strength for their family. Participants also recited the Holy Qur'an and offered Fateha, paying tribute to the lasting religious, organisational, and social contributions of the deceased.
