Delegation reviews NDMA’s preparedness and response system for emergencies

A high-level delegation of the Minhaj Welfare Foundation visited the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in Islamabad, where detailed discussions were held on disaster response, relief operations during emergencies, and ways to further strengthen practical cooperation between the two organizations.

During the visit, Director Projects and Operations Minhaj Welfare Foundation Brigadier (Retd.) Muhammad Umar Hayat gave General Manager Plans NDMA Colonel (Retd.) Humayun a comprehensive briefing on the Foundation’s ongoing welfare and relief activities across Pakistan.

He said that the Minhaj Welfare Foundation provides rescue, relief, medical assistance and rehabilitation services to affected families during natural disasters and other emergencies through an organized, grassroots volunteer network.

The meeting also covered various aspects of disaster preparedness, institutional coordination, volunteer training, efficient utilization of resources, and ways to further integrate and streamline relief operations.

The delegation also visited the NDMA Humanitarian Yard, where officials briefed its members on relief supplies and resources available for use during natural disasters and emergencies, as well as storage facilities and arrangements for managing relief operations.

The delegation reviewed NDMA’s preparedness and administrative mechanisms for responding effectively to emergency situations.

The Minhaj Welfare Foundation delegation comprised Deputy Director Programs and Projects Mansoor Qasim Awan, Deputy Director Coordination Ishtiaq Hanif Mughal, and Manager Volunteers Malik Imran.
