President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, addressed the Friday congregation at Jamia Shaykh-ul-Islam, where he said that one of the most important and radiant dimensions of the Seerah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ is respect for humanity, while self-accountability is the first step toward a person’s spiritual and moral development.

He said that Allah Almighty has bestowed honor and dignity upon the children of Adam; therefore, every human being deserves respect simply by virtue of being human, regardless of their religion, social class, or community.

Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that respect for humanity and self-accountability should constitute the central focus of human life. A seeker of truth never places absolute trust in his own self; rather, he continuously examines his actions, character, speech, morals, and conduct. A person who becomes completely satisfied with himself risks becoming heedless of the need for self-accountability.

He observed that the lives of the people of God are lived between hope and fear. Instead of taking pride in their status or spiritual standing, they adopt humility before Allah Almighty and remain concerned about the acceptance of their deeds.

He said that when a person recognizes his own reality, he turns toward reforming himself rather than looking down upon others. Every human being has weaknesses and shortcomings. The difference is that some people’s faults become visible, while Allah Almighty, out of His mercy, conceals the faults of others. No one can claim to be completely free of shortcomings.

The MQI President said that at times, a sin that generates humility, remorse, and a return to Allah may prove more beneficial than a good deed that gives rise to arrogance and pride. Searching for the faults of others is a major obstacle on the path of spiritual growth. We should focus on reforming ourselves rather than making other people’s weaknesses the subject of discussion.

Dr. Hussain said that concealing the faults of others, keeping their confidences, and refraining from hurting anyone’s dignity are all elements of noble character. Fault-finding, humiliation, and considering others inferior are diseases of the ego from which one must seek liberation.

He emphasized that the true message of the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal is not limited merely to commemorating and celebrating the birth of the Holy Prophet Mustafa ﷺ; rather, it is to make the Prophetic Seerah an integral part of our practical lives. We should refine our character and conduct, hold ourselves accountable, respect the dignity and honor of others, and treat every human being with love, compassion, and courtesy.

Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further said that when a person begins to see everyone except himself as better than himself, feelings of respect for humanity, love, humility, and civility naturally develop within him. Such an attitude forms the foundation of a healthy, peaceful, and dignified society.

The Friday congregation was attended by Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International; Al-Haj Abdul Ghafoor Qadri, Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur; Dr. Rafiq Najam; Raja Zahid Mahmood Qadri; delegations from Pakistan and abroad; central leaders of the Minhaj-ul-Quran Movement; religious scholars; affiliated members and residents of the spiritual retreat; as well as a large number of people from across Lahore.

The gathering concluded with a special prayer for the safety and security of the country, the nation, and the Muslim Ummah, as well as for their stability, progress, prosperity, peace, and well-being.
