Artificial Glamour of Social Media Is Fueling Feelings of Deprivation: Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri
Illuminate Your Outer and Inner Selves with the Teachings of the Prophet ﷺ: Shaykh-ul-Islam
Founder and Patron-in-Chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI), Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, has said that the artificial glamour portrayed on social media is one of the factors contributing to a growing sense of deprivation among young people. He urged the youth to illuminate both their outward lives and inner selves with the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
He said that in the prevailing environment of materialism, purposelessness, and moral decline, the Seerah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ offers young people the brightest and safest path. He stated that the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is Allah Almighty’s greatest blessing for all of humanity. With his arrival in the world, humanity was granted awareness of its Creator, a clear purpose in life, and the guidance to live with dignity.
In his message, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said that today’s youth have access to more information and conveniences than ever before, yet anxiety, despair, and loneliness continue to increase. He reminded young people that a person’s true worth is not determined by wealth, clothing, fame, or social popularity, but by knowledge, character, integrity, and service to humanity.
He urged the youth to channel their energies toward meaningful pursuits rather than wasting them on purposeless activities. They should acquire knowledge, develop skills, embrace truthfulness, and play their role in serving the country and the nation. He said that if young people cultivate knowledge, hard work, and noble character, circumstances can be transformed.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri further said that love for the Holy Prophet ﷺ is not merely a verbal claim. The true requirement of this love is that truthfulness should characterize our dealings, courtesy our speech, tolerance our disagreements, modesty our gaze, and compassion for Allah’s creation our hearts.
He emphasized that feeding the hungry, helping those in need, respecting parents, and safeguarding the rights of the vulnerable are practical manifestations of the teachings of the Seerah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
