President Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, in his message on the occasion of Pakistan’s Defence Day on September 6, said that Defence Day is a shining example of national unity. The homeland demands loyalty, love, responsibility and sacrifice from every citizen. He paid tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of the country during the September 1965 war, praying that Allah Almighty elevate their ranks.

He said September 6 is an enduring reminder of the great spirit of sacrifice, selflessness and patriotism. Pakistan’s freedom and security have been secured through countless sacrifices, while its protection today can only be ensured through national unity, integrity, hard work, knowledge, economic stability and responsible citizenship.

Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that national and state interests must take precedence over all personal, group and political interests. All institutions must fulfil their constitutional and national responsibilities, while citizens should also discharge their duties as a national obligation. “We must unite around the national interest rather than remain divided over our differences,” he said.

He said the changing global environment demands that Pakistan be strengthened not only as a defence power but also economically, educationally, scientifically and morally. “The martyrs protected the homeland with their blood; now we must secure Pakistan’s future through our hard work, unity, character and determination,” he said.

He stressed that keeping Pakistan strong, stable, prosperous and dignified is the shared national and moral responsibility of every citizen.
