During the intervening night of the 9th and 10th of holy month of Muharram, a ‘Paygham-e-Imam Hussain (alayhi s-salām)’ Conference was in Lahore held under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri attended the Conference and delivered a special talk to the audience there. President of MQI Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri also delivered a speech on the occasion in which he threw light on the importance of the Incident of Karbala in the human history.
MWL Jhelum organized summer camps for the children. The 7-day summer camp was attended by Mohtarma Safia Riffat, Ms Sania, Tehreem Riffat, and Raheela Zain. The proceedings of the cam got underway with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Naat. Mohtarama Safia Riffat asked students questions from the curriculum which they answered confidently.
The PAT Chairman said that it is responsibility of the current government to honour its public commitments. He hoped that Imran Khan will abide by his promises. He said that the masterminds and the police officers involved in the Model Town tragedy should be sent to jails so that the road to justice should be paved. He said that perpetrators of Model Town tragedy are hurling threats.
Lahore, at central "Qurbaan Gaah" about 1500 cattle were slaughtered and their meat was distributed among the poor and deserving during three days of Eid under the banner of Minhaj Welfare Foundation. Speaking on the occasion, Director MWF Syed Amjad Ali Shah said that no greater peace and contentment lies in an act other than service to the suffering humanity.
South Korean member of Parliament gave the award of ‘best citizen’ to Muhammad Afzal Gujjar, vice president of MQI South Korea. Shahzad Bhatti, president of MQI South Korea, and the members of the executive congratulated Muhammad Afzal Gujjar on receiving the prestigious award. They lauded his services for the Pakistani community and setting an example for others in terms of obedience of the Korean rules and regulations.
