Addressing the concluding session of the OIC in Riyadh earlier today, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the head of MQI, has said that conservatism leads to extremism which then generates terrorism. He said that this human tragedy does not take place overnight. Rather it has dynamic variables, stating that purposeful educational system is of fundamental importance in fighting this scourge in a comprehensive manner.
The 16th Collective Marriages ceremony for 23 couples was held here in Model Town under the banner of Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF). The scholars of Minhaj Ulama Council solemnized the nikah of the Muslim couples whereas the marriage rites of one Christian couple were performed according to their religious teachings. Every bride was given household stuff of Rs. 2 lacs each. 1500 guests were served food. The brides got ready in a special beauty parlour set up at the central secretariat.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri reached the holy city of Madina after attending two-day OIC meeting where he offered Friday prayers and prayed for peace, unity, and progress of the Muslim world and prosperity of Pakistan. He is in Saudi Arabia in connection with performance of Umrah. Chairman of MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri and Dr Ghazala Hassan Qadri are also with Dr Qadri.
