Methanross : Profiles in Courage:Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, 2010

I would personally like to thank Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, for his absolute bravery, in speaking up against terrorism. Regardless of what faith you are, we all are united by our humanity, even if we express our love of God in different ways. That is a beautiful thing all by itself, as long as the means are of peace. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, recently released a 600 page fatwa(religious doctrine), that says terrorism is un-Islamic, and should not be committed against anyone of all faiths. He states clearly that terrorists, who blow themselves up or kill others in the name of Islam, will go straight to Hell. They are not martyrs, and their killing of themselves and innocents, is not the proper way to promote a cause.

Thank you Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, and God bless you. We are all in this world together, and while there are some who blame Islam for terrorism, let me remind those by stating clearly, that all major religions have been responsible for such activity. That's right, people of Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and other religions have blood on their hands. Countless people have been killed in the name of God, which is simply unacceptable. While there are disagreements on theological lessons, we all have value and dignity as human beings. We must work together, and while we can disagree over certain tenets, we must realize that we have more in common than we have against each other. Isn't it time that we all realize that we are all connected, that for the most part people of all backgrounds are decent and honest, and just want the best for their families and friends. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri gets it, now its up for all of us from numerous faiths to spread his message against terrorism, and to find a way to co-exist as the brothers and sisters of humanity that we are.
