Another PPP ally joins Qadri’s long march on Islamabad

* Shujaat says Dr Qadri has raised voice against evil forces in the country

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has assured complete support to Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Tahirul Qadri for his long march towards Islamabad on January 14.

The views were expressed by PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain after meeting Tahirul Qadri at his residence on Monday. Shujaat was accompanied by Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Mushahid Hussain Syed and other leaders of the party. Shujaat said that he had old relationships with Qadri and would continue his support to the PAT leader. “Tahirul Qadri has raised voice against the evil forces in the country,” he said, adding that the PML-Q would work alongside PAT in the fight against the evil forces.

Earlier, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has also announced to participate in the long march of Tahirul Qadri. Earlier, while talking to a private TV channel, Qadri said that there is no problem in having dual nationality but he respects the decision of the Supreme Court to bar dual nationals from entering assemblies. He also said that he will not contest the general elections so there is no problem with him retaining his Canadian nationality. Regarding a question over financing of his December 23 political rally in Lahore, Qadri said, “I categorically deny any funding from foreign or domestic agencies. All the money has been raised by members of Minhaj-ul-Quran.” online
