A renowned Islamic scholar Tahir Ul Qadri has declared Fatwa against terrorism and suicide bombing. This is the first time that a famous Muslim scholar has announced Fatwa against Islamic extremists at a time the extremists have intensified the suicide bombing in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq in the name of Islam killing innocent people.

There must be complete rejection against terrorism from the Islamic World, Dr Qadri said while announcing Fatwa against the terrorists at a packed press conference attended by Islamic scholars, ministers, MPs, ambassadors and other renowned figures in London. Who is Dr Qadri?

What is Fatwa?

There are many Fatwas declared so far but the first well-known fatwas I came to know was declared against famous Indian born British writer Salman Rushdie in 1989 by the Iranian Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
