Vice Chancellor of Al-Azhar University expresses his grief over recent floods in a letter to Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

In a letter addressed to Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Director of the International Contact Office for Al-Azhar scholars at the Minhaj University Lahore, Dr Muhammad Abdul Fazeel al-Qasi, Vice Chancellor of the renowned Al-Azhar University, has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious human lives and destruction of property in the recent floods that have deluged all the four provinces of Pakistan. The honourable Vice Chancellor wrote in his letter that the entire Muslim world and people of Egypt were grieved over disastrous floods in Pakistan and share the sorrow of their Pakistani brethren. He urged the international community in general and the Muslim world in particular to come to the relief of Pakistani people. “The provision of aid in such trying times is obligatory from the point of view of Islamic law so that our brothers and sisters could be brought back into the mainstream of life. Our effort should be to convey this message to all the four corners of the world,” he wrote in his letter. He prayed to Allah Almighty to give patience and courage to the suffering people to bear this tragedy and make them stand on their feet again.
