Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League holds ‘Sayyida-e-Kainat Conference’
Sayyida-e-Kainat Conference was held under the aegis of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women
League at MQI Secretariat, Lahore on August 24, 2010. Addressing the Sayyida-e-Kainat
Conference held under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League, central Secretary
General MWL Sumaira Rafaqat Advocate has said that Hazrat Fatima-tuz-Zahra (RA)
was the embodiment of selflessness and sacrifice. She said that we need to adopt
this aspect of her personality today. We have to demonstrate extreme sacrifice and
rise above our own interests to help the flood affectees. The calamity stricken
poor people of our country are afflicted with multiple miseries caused by the unprecedented
flood devastation. She urged to get forward and take the responsibility of the ruined
people especially the children deprived of their parents. She said that Minhaj-ul-Quran
International has established ‘Aaghosh’ (Orphan Care Home) to look after the orphan
children and provide them with decent life to enable them to grow into productive
citizens of the society. She asked the Muslim women to make Sayyida-e-Kainat (RA)
their role model. “This is how we can contribute to the well being of our society
in our different roles as mother, daughter, sister and wife,” she held. We would
have to resolve, she added, to take a leaf from her book to reform our lives. A
generation so brought up on these lines by such mothers would be instrumental in
making Islam politically and economically powerful.
Lubna Zaidi of Imamia Students Organization said on the occasion that it was
the character of Sayyida (RA) that she would starve herself but would give people
to eat. Time demands of us today that we adopt the same principles and values that
characterized her blessed life. We need to dedicate ourselves fully and wholly to
the support of the flood victims.
Aliya Sadeed Advocate said in her speech that the reason for comprehensive downfall
is that we have taken wrong people as our ideal. If we want to come out of this
quagmire and regain our lost respect, we need to adopt the character of Sayyida-e-Kainat
(RA). She said that we have to come forward and rise to the occasion like one nation
in this hour of trial. Sadaf Iqbal, Aneela Doager, Ayesha Shabbir, Dr Noshaba, Maryam
Hafeez, Sajida Sadiq, Batool Gillani and other women belonging to different walks
of life participated in the Conference.
