PAT slams Indian High Court’s verdict on Babri Mosque

Commenting on the verdict of the Indian High Court on the Babri Mosque, President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani has said that the verdict is discriminatory, politically motivated and violates the principles of justice. It would damage efforts being made for interfaith harmony at the global level. He said that the verdict exposes the so-called myth of the Indian secularism and hurts the feelings of the Indian Muslims. The Muslims’ decision of appealing against the verdict in the Indian Supreme Court shows their lack of faith in the High Court, which has bowed before the Hindu extremists and bigots. He said that the message put across to the world community is that the policies are made in India keeping in view the desires of the majority where there is little space for the minorities. He deplored the silence of the international community over the atrocities being committed on the hapless Kashmiris by the Indian security forces. He asked the world to take note of gross human rights violations in Kashmir in the larger interest of peace and harmony in the world.
