Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, has said that Minhaj-ul-Quran International has its existence in five continents of the world and is working for the promotion of peace, integration, interfaith dialogue and harmony in the world. He said that the thought of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has become a beacon of light for millions of the Muslims for promotion of real Islamic teachings. He said that the Movement Shaykh-ul-Islam founded 31 years ago has undoubtedly become the greatest movement of the world from the point of view of organizational network. He added that whenever elements with vested interests resorted to vitiating the atmosphere of harmony through negative propaganda against the teachings of Islam, Shaykh-ul-Islam came forward and foiled all such efforts for good by advancing cogent arguments based on the Holy Quran and Sunna.
By furnishing intellectual and practical guidance through issuance of his historic Fatwa against terrorism, radicalism and extremism, he conveyed to the world community in clear terms that Islam is a religion of peace and love and guarantees peace to the humanity. He also made it clear that those misusing the fair name of Islam for their nefarious agendas had in fact nothing to do with Islam and its teachings. “Peace for Humanity Conference 2011 held under the banner of MQI in Wembley Arena was a representative conference of the Muslim world in which the leaders of other religions vowed to make world a hub of peace. 24-point communiqué was also issued on the occasion. This Confernece was an expression of confidence in the services rendered by MQI and Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri by the peace-loving people of the world,” he added.
Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi expressed these views while addressing a big gathering held to mark the 31st foundation day of Minhaj-ul-Quran International in Model Town Lahore the other day. Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Anwar Akhtar Advocate, GM Malik, Sajid Mahmood Bhatti and other leaders were also present on the occasion. The office holders of MQI from across the country attended the foundation-day ceremony.
In his message to the workers, Dr Raheeq Abbasi asked the workers to continue waging a peaceful struggle against the present exploitative system and if they remained steadfast, the day was not far when the dear homeland would be rid of exploitation and oppression.
While speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, senior Deputy Secretary General of MQI, said that history of MQI bears witness to the fact that whenever enemies of Islam tried to create doubts, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri did justice to guiding the Muslim community out of these mischievous times. He said that MQI has played very decisive and leading role in strengthening the otherwise weakening relationship of the people with Allah Almighty, the Holy Prophet (SAW) and the Holy Quran. He said that scholars of MQI are playing fundamental role in propagating the real Islamic teachings throughout the world as ambassador of Islam. He said that MQI employed the modern scientific devices for promotoin of values of our forefathers in this age of materialism and mischief. He said that six thousand speeches of Shaykh-ul-Islam are guiding the Muslim Umma and scholarly treasure produced by him would continue to guide the Muslim for centuries to come.
In his remarks on the occasion, GM Mlailk said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri brought about an educational revolution through dozens of colleges, a chartered university and 603 schools. He said that thousands of students studying in these educational institutions are playing their role in promotion of positive values in the society. Anwar Akhtar Advocate, Secretary General of PAT, said that awareness campaign of MQI and PAT would culminate on the elimination of exploitative and oppressive system.
