Expatriate community worried over national state of affairs: Dr Raheeq Abbasi

Dated: 09 January 2012 MQI on FB

Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, return to Pakistan after his 15-day visit to Europe and UK. Talking to the media men at the Lahore airport, he said that the Pakistani expatriate community was highly perturbed over the state affairs in the country. He said that they were worried over the skyrocketing dearness, which was eating into the vitals of the Pakistani state and society and the persisting energy crisis had paralyzed the normal flow of flow besides suspending the business activities in the country.

In a reply to a question, Dr Abbasi said that the strong institutions were instrumental in progress and prosperity of the country and gave a place of respect and honour to the country in the comity of nations.

The case in Pakistan, he said, was otherwise as executive was bent upon turning a deaf ear to the decisions of the Apex Court. He said that familiar pattern was the major hurdle in the way of national progress.

Dr Abbasi further said that the political parties were in the grip of the leaders having dictatorial mindsets. Both political system and political parties lacked the essence of democracy, he added.

Dr Abbasi called upon different sections of society to join the MQI’s campaign of public awareness in an attempt to change the electoral system of the country. He said that doing so was the national responsibility and the only way forward to steer the country out of its present predicaments.

Dr Abbasi said that MQI and its leadership always guided people in the right direction and MQI possessed complete programme to bring about positive and real change in the society.
