Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri representing Islam in true sense: Syed Sarwar Chishty

Syed Sarwar Chishty, Khadim Gaddi Nasheen of Shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Moeen Uddin Chishty Ajmeri (R.A.), who is visiting Pakistan these days, called on Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International in Lahore today. Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Khalil-ur-Rehman Chishty, Raja Jamil Ajmal, G.M. Malik, Syed Altaf Hussain Gillani, and Dr Obaidullah Ranjha were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Sarwar Chishty said that interfaith dialogue was the practice of the Sufis. Khawaja Ghareeb Nawaz went to India to spread the light of Islam. He said that these were the conservatives who opposed the idea of engagement and dialogue among civilizations and religions. He said that MQI had played historic role for promotion of interfaith harmony in the world. He said that Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri had presented the case of Islam in the foreign world in accordance with the demands of the modern time. His multi-dimensional services are beacon of light for all of us, he added.

Syed Sarwar Chishty said that the Wembley Conference held under the banner of MQI was the need of the hour and the people having bigoted mindsets must not object to it. He said that MQI has put up a shield against the forces of militancy and terrorism by promoting the real teachings of Sufis. The religious edict against terrorism was a historic document, which had cleared many misconceptions about Islam found in the world. He said that the peaceful forces needed to be aligned against terrorism and extremism.

Syed Sarwar Chishty also visited various departments of MQI.
