Comprehensive Hadith compendium al-Minhaj us-Sawi published in English
Al-Minhaj us-Sawi is a milestone work, the first work of its kind for many centuries. It is a compendium of more than 1,100 Prophetic hadiths, categorised under a number of headings and compiled with clear relevance to the lives and situation of Muslims in the modern age. The work is authenticated by a rigorous and detailed process of takhrij—referencing each hadith to its sources—from a study of over 300 authentic works of hadith. This major work is compiled by the renowned and authoritative scholar with in-depth knowledge of hadith sciences, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
This work will be useful for academics in many relevant fields, whether researching the basis of orthodox Sunni belief and practice, or examining the contemporary Muslim response to religious extremism. It is a must read to understanding the Prophetic way of life.
Al-Minhaj us-Sawi is the first hadith compendium to be compiled for 700 years after Mishkat al-Masabih of Imam Muhammad Khatib al-Tabrizi or Imam al-Nawawi's Riyad al-Salihin. It deals with study of belief (al-aqida), deeds (al-amal), worship (al-ibadat), morals and virtues (al-akhlaq) and many other relevant topics. It is a compendium of all six major hadith collections (al-Sihah al-Sittah).
