Monthly Spiritual Gathering (September 2012)

The monthly spiritual gathering of MQI was organized on September 6 on the roof of Gosh-a-Durood. The proceedings of the programme got underway after Isha prayers. Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Amir of MQI, presided over the gathering, whereas Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi, Prof Muhammad Nawaz Zafar, Rana Idrees Qadri, the office holders of Minhaj Women League and people from across the Lahore city attended the programme in large number. Separate seating arrangements were made for the women.

The proceedings of the spiritual gathering got underway with recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Naat. Durood-o-Salam was also offered on the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) in connection with the demand of the occasion.

Addressing the programme, Muhammad Ijaz Malik said that the sending of Durood on the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) was a unique and the greatest act of worship in which Allah Almighty and His angels also partake along with people. He said that this act was instrumental in ensuring nearness of servants to their Lord, repentance of their sins and acceptance of their prayers.

Ijaz Malik said that the greatness and reward of the Durood-so-Salam could be gauged from the fact that when someone offers Durood on the person of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.), Allah Almighty and His angels also send Durood and peace on that person. He said that if we want to strengthen our bond with the person of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.), then we should offer Durood on him abundantly.

He said that Durood sessions were taking place around the world in which hundreds of people participated and offered Durood on the holy Prophet (S.A.W.). He said that these centres were established on the instructions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.

The programme ended on Dua for peace and harmony in the world.
