Qadri signals joint march with Imran

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) head Dr. Tahir ul Qadri hinted that there could be a joint date for revolution if Imran Khan and he managed to evolve a consensus on their agenda.

In an exclusive interview in SAMAA’s flag-ship program, ‘Nadeem Malik Live’ today, Dr. Qadri said that he would launch his movement to bring about revolution after Eid ul Fitr.

“Our agenda is against oppressive and exploitative system,” he said. “If Imran Khan agrees with this agenda, there could be a joint date for the Islamabad march.”

The PAT leader said that accountability process would begin immediately after the revolution.

Replying to a question as to when the revolution will come, Dr. Qadri claimed that it will come within weeks; it is not months away.

Establishing his point of view regarding the modus operandi of revolution, Dr. Qadri termed his revolution absolutely constitutional, lawful, democratic and moral, in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan.

The first Article of Preamble says, he continued, that Allah has directly entrusted the people with the right to rule; the rulers do not have this power on their own, adding the Constitution declared this power as ‘sacred trust’.

Tahir-ul-Qadri said, “Imran Khan pleads for only four constituencies. In contrast, our agenda pertains to 200 million people. Hence, if my agenda and Imran’s converge on a single point, we can announce a joint date for the revolution.”

Dr. Qadri also presented a sketch of the revolution which will be set in motion soon after Eidul Fitr. He also remarked that the process of accountability will be kick-started within a month of the revolution and people will begin receiving their rights within first three months.

He also announced that five to ten acre of land will distributed among the farmers and unemployment will be put to an end as soon as the post-revolution government is in place. – SAMAA
