MD PTV, Marvi Memon, govt ministers behind PTV attack: Qadri

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri vowed that Dama Dam Mast Qalandar will ensue if the government cracks down on the workers overnight.

Addressing the participants of the Inqilab March sit-in opposite Parliament House, he said section-144 cannot hamper the path of revolutionaries.

Cautioning the participants of the sit-in against potential crackdown by the government overnight, Dr. Qadri directed the revolutionaries to remain alert on their marks overnight. He reaffirmed, “Basing on the assault on the PTV building, police may launch the action tonight.”

However, he said he will lead the revolutionaries and protesters if they are attacked.

On this occasion, Dr. Qadri raised some questions concerning the PTV attack case. He mentioned there were at least 2000 police personnel on duty the night between 30 and 31 August, when Inqilab March was making headway to stage a sit-in in front of PM House. But, during daytime, there was not a single policeman on duty at the PTV building, he said asking as to who gave orders to remove 2000 police personnel from the PTV building.

He continued, “Suppose the attackers were charged rioters; how it became possible for Marvi Memon to reach the PTV building intact and talk to media quite peacefully with no slogans raised against her.”

The PAT chief claimed that the government ministers including Marvi Memon and MD PTV were involved in the said attack.

Earlier, making a mention of the awakening and awareness caused by Inqilab March, Dr. Qadri remarked that it was unheard of earlier in the history of Pakistan; but, now it is happening across the country that the people of Sukkur protested against Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and did not allow him to drive by.

Relating the incident, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said a road was blocked in Sukkur on the arrival of the Sindh CM in the city, adding a donkey-cart man, who declined to stop, was brutally tortured. On this, the people of Sukkur protested against the Chief Minister, he told the sit-in participants.

Meantime, a woman hurled a shoe at Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif in Jhang, he said while quoting a television ticker, maintaining that the revolution has given courage to the downtrodden to rise up for their rights. –SAMAA
