Five Stages of the Movement

Compiled by Manchester Muslim Youth League - Sisters Section

Minhaj-ul-Qur'an presents five stages that will lead to the establishment of Islam as the ideal way of life for the individual and society.

1. Propagation (Dawah)

This involves taking an active part in presenting Islam to fami1y, friends and the community at large.

Invite all to the way with wisdom and beautiful preaching and argue (i.e. discuss) with them in ways that are best and most gracious for your lord knows best, who have strayed from his path and who receive guidance.

(Al-Qur’an 16:125)

2. Organisation (Tanzeem)

Members are organised in regular societies which are working from the local to an international level.

Truly Allah loves those who fight in His cause in battle array, as if they were a solid cemented structure.

(Al-Qur’an 8:60)

3. Education and Training (Tarbiyat)

Members receive proper training in a comprehensive range of subjects to prepare them in their da'wa work from spiritual training to the study of philosophy and theology and personal character building (tarbiyah).

Nor should the believers all go fourth together if a contingent from every expedition remained behind, they could devote themselves to studies in religion, and guard themselves (against evil).

(Al-Qur’an 9:122)

Abu Huraira narrated the Messenger of Allah mentioned:

...whoever treads a path in order to seek knowledge for him Allah shall make easy a path to the Garden...

(Muslim)

It is He who has sent amongst the unlettered a messenger from among themselves, to rehearse to them His signs, to sanctify them, and instruct them in scripture and wisdeom...

(Al-Qur’an 62:2).

And

As well as (to confer all these benefits upon) others of them, who have not already joined them...

(Sura 62 Verse 3)

Abu Bakr(ra) narrated the Prophet (SAW) said in his sermon at Mina,

Let those who are present inform those who are not. And it may be that those who pass it on understand it less than some of those who hear it

(Bukhari and Muslim)

4. Implementation

In this stage, using all the training obtained our members will lead by example by taking an active part in the society to carry out social and moral reform.

The religion before Allah is Islam

(Al-Qur’an 3:19)

5. Reformation

Through the political implementation of Islam, ideological, moral, spiritual, social and economic revival can occur.

And strive in His cause as you ought to strive (with sincerity and under discipline) He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion.

(Al-Qur’an 22:78)
