Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri to address ‘Shahadat-e-Imam Husayn (alayhi as-salām) Conference’ tomorrow

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will address “Shahadat-e-Imam Husayn (alayhi as-salām) Conference” in the central secretariat to be organized under the banner of MQI on the 9th of Moharram on Saturday. Religious scholars, Mashaykh and intellectuals belonging to different walks of life and schools of thought will attend the Conference.

Meanwhile Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council has arranged to hold conferences at 300 places across the country in which scholars of Minhaj University will throw light on the message of Hazrat Imam Hussain (alayhi as-salām)

In a separate event held under the banner of MQI Lahore, Allama Sayyid Farhat Hussain Shah threw light on the philosophy of martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (alayhi as-salām). He said that the battle between truth and falsehood that is the epoch of Karbla, has benefitted every age, culture and civilization with its fruits. This greatest of the martyrdom holds many lessons for the humanity. He said that the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (alayhi as-salām) emerges as a metaphor of freedom, truth, determination, justice, perseverance, and greatness of character in a contrast to an age of oppression, injustice and breaking of pledges. He said that Hussainiyat is the name of justice and those who struggle against injustice are called Hussaini.

Hafiz Ghulam Farid, leader of MQI Lahore, said that if we want to progress and bring about change in our individual and collective lives, we will have to adopt the Hussaini character. He said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (alayhi as-salām) uttered the word of truth before the Yazidi regime. He said that helping the oppressed and helpless people is a form of worship and this is the message that emanated from Karbla. He said that 200 million Pakistanis are facing terrorism, extremism and injustice today. He said that the nation will have to decide whether they want to live under the current oppressive system or change it through peaceful means. He said that the Pakistani people will have to raise their voice to get their rights back that have been usurped by the elite.
