A huge void left by assassination of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto: Pakistan Awami Tehreek

Paying tribute to the services of Shaheed Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto, the slain leader of PPP and ex-PM of Pakistan, for the cause of democracy, Anwar Akhtar Advocate, Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has said that the assassination of BB had left a great political void in the country. He was speaking in the meeting of central executive council of PAT the other day. He demanded of the government to formulate effective strategy against such deplorable happenings as the security of national political and religious leaders had assumed gigantic proportions. Expressing his deep concern at the shortage of patrol and load-shedding of gas across the country, Anwar Akhtar Advocate said that the government needed to undertake urgent steps for overcoming these crises in the larger national interests. He said the people of Pakistan deserved better.

Central leader of PAT, Sumaira Rafaqat Advocate, said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto lighted the candle of democracy by sacrificing her life. She said BB was the life member of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and the void created by her untimely death would not be fulfilled. Sumaira Rafaqat said that after the return of civilian rule, the PPP-led government would have to resolve people's problem on priority basis in the interest of democracy. She said Pakistan encountered the worst problems like food shortage, price hike, inflation, terrorism, and power outages etc. The government should work out comprehensive policy to tackle them successfully.

Quran Khawani was held for the departed soul of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto at the end of the program. The meeting ended on collective Dua for her.
