Shocking News: Tanveer Ahmad Quraishi Murdered
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
INNA LILLAH WA INNA ILAHI RAJIOUN
He was murdered when he had gone to retrieve his kidnapped nephew. The kidnappers had asked for a ransom in order to release his nephew. He went to them and paid the ransom, they took the ransom money from him and immediately shot him. Mr Makhdoom Tanveer Ahmad Quraishi died at the spot.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is immensely saddened by the murder of this great soldier of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI). He has said, ‘Makhdoom Tanveer Ahmad Quraishi was like a son to me… and my arm has been cut off.’ Shaykh-ul-Islam has declared three days of mourning for Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) all across the world, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Qul Khani will be held on Sunday at the Central Secretariat. All Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) offices and centres have been instructed to hold sittings of Quran Khawanis, Fatiah, blessings and ithal-thawab and mourn his death.
The funeral of Mr Makhdoom Tanveer Ahmad Quraishi will be held on Friday 24th March 2006, after Jumma Prayers at the Central Secretariat, 365 M Model Town Lahore. Shaykh-ul-Islam Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will be leading his funeral prayer. He will be buried within the grounds of MQI.
Shaykh-ul-Islam has said, ‘This soldier of Minhaj-ul-Quran International will be buried in the boundaries of MQI in Township. A special place has been chosen for his place of burial.’
Mr Makhdoom Tanveer Ahmad Quraishi was born in Rawalpindi. He was one of the main Central Leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) at the head quarters, in Lahore. Recently he served as Central Nazim Tanzeemat. He was currently a member of Minhaj-ul-Quran International’s highest body, the Supreme Council.
His death has left a great hole in all members and leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI).
