Martyrdom Conference under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council and Bazm-e-Minhaj
Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, member of the Supreme Council (MQI), has said the majority of the rightly-guided Caliphs by embracing martyrdom have taught us to embody the spirit of public good in the larger interest of people. He said it was not a coincidence that the Islamic year started and concluded on sacrifice. We could only teach others the virtues of brotherhood, sacrifice and peace if we ourselves became the paragon of these qualities. He said Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was spreading the same message of peace and good will across the globe and his services as a global ambassador of peace were recognized.
He expressed these views while addressing the keynote speech at a grand 'Martyrdom Conference' organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council and Bazm-e-Minhaj jointly in connection with the martyr's day of Leaders of the Believers Siyyidina Umer Farooq (ra) and Siyyidina Usman Ghani (ra) in the central secretariat on December 31, 2008. Central Amir-e-Tehreek Sahibzada Miskin Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani presided over the conference, whereas the son of Shaykh-ul-Islam, Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, was the guest of honour at the occasion. Nazim-e-Ala MQI Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Mufti Abdul Qayyum Hazarvi, al-Hajaj Imamdullah Khan, Muhammad Hussain Azad, Mir Muhammad Asif Akber, Allama Muhammad Usman Sialvi, Allama Muhammad Nawaz Kokab, Allama Mumtaz Hussain Saddiqui, Muhammad Asghar Shakir, Allama Mukhtar Ahmad Saddiqui, Allama Ghulam Murtaza Noori, Allama Saeed Ahmad, Allama Ghulam Mustafa Qadri, Allama Ghulam Yaseen Qadri were also present in the conference.
Highlighting various aspects of the personality of Hazrat Siyyidina Usman Ghani (ra), Allama Muhammad Shahzad Mujadadi said that he was such a privileged companion who was called 'the Holder of two lights' as the Holy Prophet (pbuh) had married off his two daughters with him one after the other. Paying Hazrat Usman Ghani rich tribute, he said the Holy Prophet (pbuh) had predicted about his martyrdom himself.
Prof Syed Abdur Rehman Bukhari said that with the acceptance of Islam by Syedna Umer Farooq (ra), the Islamic power rose and the Muslims started to worship in the holy Kaba with an open declaration. Allama Syed Ali Ghazanfer Kararvi urged the Sunni and Shiite schools of thought to demonstrate unity within their ranks in order to respect the sanctity of the holy month of Moharram.
