PAT criticizes by-poll results

President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, while responding to the results of by-polls, has said that the electoral victory of fake degree holders amounts to humiliation of the people's mandate. These people after reaching the assemblies would undermine the mandate through fair and foul means. Democracy in Pakistan is all about having winning horses and there is no space for capable but middle class representation in it. This political system is bankrupt and cannot deliver. The change in the political system of the country is a must to make people realize that they are also stakeholder in the system. 'There is little chance of democracy taking roots in the country unless the tendency to elect ignorant and uneducated leadership is checked,' he opined. Why would such a leadership establish a network of universities who has never been to educational institutions? PAT president questioned.

Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said that the politicians have started reaping the benefits of the 18th Constitutional Amendment, while the masses have been made to perform the ritual of voting the undeserving people into the assemblies. He warned that if the people continued making such political choices, it would spell death-knell for the system.
