Democratic struggle for smooth transfer of power to masses inevitable: Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, president of Federal Council of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has said that Pakistan is neither Islamic nor democratic. There is a need to steer the nation of intellectual and ideological slavery. There are instances that show corruption and unemployment on rise in the country. It is now time we call spade a spade. The policy of turning a blind eye would not be beneficial. Every citizen is duty bound to play his role to save Pakistan today. Everyone has a definite role to awaken the sleeping conscience of the nation. The workers of PAT should include masses in their struggle to liberate the country from corruption and other ills afflicting the nation. ‘It is essential that every one of us plays his role to transfer the leadership from 3% elite to 97% masses. This is the only way to make Pakistan Islamic and democratic in the real sense,’ he opined.

Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri expressed these views while addressing the 21st Foundation Day of Pakistan Awami Tehreek at the central secretariat of the party today. He said that the workers of PAT have to work hard to transmit Shyakh-ul-Islam’s vision of Pakistan to every citizen so that the nation could regain their lost honour and dignity. ‘In order to break the economic bondage, the nation needs to awaken its sense of responsibility and launch democratic struggle for smooth transfer of power to the masses,’ he emphasized.

PAT president Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Secretary General Anwar Akhtar Advocate, Iqbal Ahmad Khan, G.M. Malik, Jawad Hamid, Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam, Chaudhry Afzal Gujjar, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Abdul Qayyum Khan, Lehrasayab Khan, Ishtiaq Ch, Ghulam Muhammad Awan, Ch Imtiaz Ahmad, Gull Raiz Ahmad Warriach, Nasir Iqbal Advocate, Naeem-ud-Din Ch, Saqib Bhatti, Ch Ashfaq, and M.H. Shaheen were also present on the occasion.

PAT president Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said that the day the realization of returning the trust to its rightful heirs dawned, there would be political and economic revolution in the country, which no one would be able to stop. We would have to work hard to awaken the conscience of the nation. Politics does not signify plundering the national wealth but serving the people selflessly. It is also the responsibility of people to assess whether the candidates they were voting into power possessed the right credentials to represent them.

PAT Secretary General Anwar Akhtar Advocate said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri possesses capabilities to steer the nation out of multiple challenges it is facing now. If the Parliament started playing its due role, the country would be on its track. He said that the present parliament is answerable only to the heads of the political parties. The lawmakers would have to make themselves sovereign. The public interest should be kept in view while proposing amendments. He said that it is important to change the electoral culture to change the political culture and PAT is working on the same agenda.

PAT president of Lahore chapter Afzal Gujjar said that the corruption-ridden political culture has brought the country near catastrophe. We would have to get rid of the system to save the country and it is the goal PAT is working to achieve.

Other speakers also addressed the Seminar and expressed the need for change in the country.
