Minhaj Welfare Foundation makes arrangements for collective sacrifice

Addressing the meeting of the administrative committees established for the ‘Qurbani’ campaign, G.M. Malik, Head of the central Campaign, has said that all arrangements for sacrificial purpose have been completed across Lahore, all the four provinces and AJ&K. The collective sacrifice is being offered at the Tehsil level this time round, he added. He told that 7000 animals including sheep, cow and goat etc., would be slaughtered and the plan for distribution of meat of the sacrificed animals among the flood affectees has also been prepared. He said that arrangements for collective sacrifice have been made in more than 30 cities including the flood hit areas, and the meat of the animals would be distributed among one hundred thousand flood victims.

Sajid Mahmood Bhatti, the head of committee dealing with distribution of meat among the flood affectees, said that different zones have been established in Shikarpur, Larkana, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Layyah, Mianwali, Sawat, Kalam, Balochistan, Kashmir, Sakkur, Hyderabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan for the distribution of meat. He said that in-charges of these zones have also been appointed to oversee the entire process of distribution of meat among the flood hit people. Sacrifice would be offered under the banner of Minhaj Welfare Foundation in more than one hundred cities in the country including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Iftikhar Shah Bokhari, Director of Minhaj Welfare Foundation, said that the meat of sacrificial animals would be distributed among the patients of the major cities of Lahore which include Jinnah Hospital, General Hospital, Ganga Ram Hospital, Meo Hospital and Sheikh Zaid Hospital etc. In addition to that, meat and food would also be distributed among the prisoners in the jails. He said that MWF has also made arrangements for collection of skins of sacrificial animals including the establishment of 300 camps in Lahore. He said that the workers of MQI would go to each and every house and collect the skins. Iftikhar Shah Bokhari said that the revenue received from the sale of sacrificial skins would be spent on the health and education-related welfare projects of MWF, collective marriages, construction of Aaghosh (Orphan Care Home) and rehabilitation of the flood victims.

Amir of MQI Punjab Ahmad Nawaz Anjum said that the target of collecting 1.5 lakh has been fixed this year and dozens of committees have been formed to achieve this target. He hoped that MQI workers would not only achieve the set target but also perform even better. Aaqil Malik, Mian Zahid Islam, Tahir Yaqub, Haji Manzoor Hussain, Shameem Numberdar and others were also present on the occasion.
