Thousands to attend Milad March tomorrow

All arrangements have been completed for the Milad March to be held from the Assembly Hall to Data Darbar tomorrow under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. The March is being arranged to welcome the onset of the holy month of Rabi-ul-Awal and for promotion of respect and love for the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), which would be attended by thousands of people from all sections of society. Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Nazim-e-Ala of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Irshad Tahir, Amir-e-Lahore, would jointly lead the March, which would simultaneously be held in Gujranwala and Rawalpindi. The 15 administrative committees established to complete the arrangements submitted their report to Irshad Tahir. Thousands of people belonging to various forums of MQI such as Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council, Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Mustafvi Students Movement, and Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League would participate in the March. The purpose of holding Milad March is to strengthen the relationship with the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and give message to the world that Islam is a religion of peace and love and the person of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the dearest to every Muslim over and above everyone else.

The participants would tell the world that terrorism and extremism have nothing to do with peaceful religion of Islam. Islam abhors the use of violence to make one’s point and allows the employment of peaceful means for recording one’s dissent. The suicide bombings that kill innocent people are violative of the teachings of Islam. Those who kill humanity are the residents of hell. The March would be a watershed in the history of the country in that it would convey crystal clearly that the promotion of love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) can serve as deterrence against the forces of radicalism and terrorism.
