Mother a metaphor of selflessness & love: MWL

Ms Noshaba Zia, Central Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League, has said that no society can deny the importance of teachings Islam gave about the blood relations. She said that scores of Quranic verses and Hadith underline the respect and reverence to be accorded to the relations of parents. She said that Islam has particularly emphasized the respect of mother and Allah Almighty gave the reference of mother’s love to highlight His love for human beings, which is seventy times higher than that of a mother. She said that Hadith that “Paradise lies under the feet of mother” shows that all worships cannot even be equal to the service of mother. We must remain vigilant on this count. If we do justice to this responsibility, the moral and ethical disorder can be done away with, she added.

Ms Noshaba Zia expressed these views while addressing a seminar on the occasion of International Mothers Day organized under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League today in central secretariat in Model Town.

MWL Secretary General said that the entire world was celebrating the Day as a demonstration of thanksgiving on Allah’s greatest gift to the humanity in the form of mothers. She said that existence of mother was light in the darkness and a fragrance, which could not be confined. The canvas of Mother’s love was so vast that it had encompassed the entire universe. She said that mother was a metaphor of selfless, love and affection. She said that Islam enjoined its believers to show utmost reverence and respect to parents out of all blood relations. Such of level of respect accorded to parents that if any of them got old in front of their children, they were ordained not to utter even a single annoying word to them.

Ms Noshaba Zia said that sanctity of relations was linked to economic conditions of a society, which should not be the case as relations were over and above these material considerations. She said that the society was undergoing many changes with effects on the blood relations.

Sajida Sadiq, Sidra Karmat, Gulshan Irshad, Irshad Iqbal and others also spoke on the occasion.
