Daily The Nation: Becoming caretaker PM not my agenda: Tahirul Qadri
Chairman of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that to become caretaker prime minister was not in his agenda.
Addressing the workers’ convention in Lahore through video facility at more than one thousand places in the country on Sunday, Qadri said he wanted to see real democracy in the country and that he would not accept any post after changing the electoral system in Pakistan.
He thanked those who supported him in the 23rd December public rally at Minar-e-Pakistan. The journey of democratic revolution had started from 23rd Dec, he said.
Qadri demanded of the armed forces to take responsibility of security of the participants of the march towards Islamabad on January 14.
He said he had submitted jewelry of his wife, daughter and daughter-in-law for expenses of 14 Jan March.
He said he is no fool that anyone could sabotage his movement and benefit from it. He would also not allow the two main parties to decide about the caretaker prime minister among themselves. He expressed confidence that after the 14th January long march the parliament would become ineffective.
Tahirul Qadri said he would not return from Islamabad until the attainment of his objective even if he had to stay there for one year. He said he had not uttered a single world against the constitution, law, democracy and Pakistan.
The Minhajul Quran chief said he has come for the supremacy of constitution and law and to support the Judiciary. He claimed the Lahore Revolution would turn into Pakistan Revolution in a week.
He came hard on those asking about the sources of income and said that he had not got a single penny from the United States or any other country.
Dr Tahirul Qadri said corrupt and supporters of exploitative system must read the writing on the wall that no more corruption would be allowed in the country and no one would usurp power on the basis of money. “Now only it would be the people of Pakistan who will decide about their fate,” he asserted.
