Minhaj-ul-Quran International condemns manhandling of Pakistani journalists in India

Condemning the Hindu extremists’ attack on Pakistani journalists and their subjection to intimidation in the strongest possible words, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, has dubbed it as a failure of the Indian security institutions. He said that the Indian minorities especially the Muslims were not safe at the hands of Hindu extremist organizations. The victimization of Muslims has been happening every now and then reminding of the permeation of Saffron extremism into the Indian body politic. Pakistani citizens who happen to visit India have also to fall victim to the extremist hatred. In the backdrop of these circumstances, it was the responsibility of the Indian government to have managed fool-proof security for the visiting Pakistani journalists but it failed to do the needful, thereby, fuelling suspicions about its complicity in the reprehensible incident. He said that the mushroom growth of Hindu obscurantism was the biggest danger to the regional peace and stability. He urged the international bodies of journalists to take note of this sad incident and lodge a strong protest with the Indian authorities.
