Faith leaders attend protest against profane video

Protest demonstrations continue against the profane movie throughout Pakistan under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on September 20. Attended by hundreds of men and women, a rally was taken out which started from the Railways station and concluded on GPO.

In addition to Sohail Ahmad Raza, Director Interfaith Relation of MQI, the protest rally was also attended by key faith leaders which included Fr. James Chanan Director Peace Centre of Roman Catholic Church, Dr Majid Abel, Pastor Incharge of Noulakha Church, Pastor Hanook Haq of Saint Andrews Preston Church, Pundit Bhaghat Lal Balmik Temple, Pundit Kashi Ram, Garanthi Giyani of Guradwara Dera sahib Lahore, Sardar Ranjeet Singh, and Dr Yuel Bhatti, Executive Secretary of URI Pakistan.

The MQI leaders thanked the non-Muslim delegations for their participation in the rally. The followers and leaders of all religions chanted slogans against the provocative and offensive movie. They called for legislation on respect for religions, adding that no religion allowed blasphemy of their holy personages.

Sohail Ahmad Raza apprised the participants of the efforts made by MQI for promotion of interfaith dialogue and harmony in the world in general and Pakistan in particular.
