Supreme Council pays rich tributes to Shaykh-ul-Islam for scholarly contributions
A meeting of MQI’s Supreme Council was held at the central secretariat with Chairman Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-din Qadri in the chair. Those who attended the meeting included Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Dr Ghazala Qadri, Engineer Muhammad Rafique Najam, Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees, Allama Sadiq Qureshi, Qazi Zahid Hussain, Dr Farah Naz, Dr Maya Naz, Dr Shahida Mughal Naumani, Ali Abbas Bokhari, Bilal Uppal, Ghulam Murtaza Murtazai, Syed Mahmood Shah, Dawood Hussain Mash'hadi, Haji Muhammad Khan, Zill-e-Hassan, Faisal Hussain Mash'hadi, Muhammad Farooq Rana, Noorullah Siddiqui, and Abdur Rehman Malik. Hafiz Ghulam Farid and Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam joined the meeting as observers.
The meeting adopted a resolution that paid rich tribute to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on completing the translation of the Holy Quran directly from Arabic into English language. Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri informed the meeting that the launching ceremony of the translation would be held in the UK in August, adding that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has rendered a great service to the cause of the religion.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur briefed the meeting about the various matters including the rehabilitation of and the provision of homes to the flood-affectees, and progress on Al-Azamiya Institute, Orphan Care Village, Orphan Care Home Jhelum, Pictorial Gallery and Minhaj Welfare Foundation. The participants of the meeting congratulated Minhaj Welfare Foundation for its active role in the relief and rehabilitation activities for the flood victims and Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League on the completion of the pictorial gallery project.
Muhammad Farooq Rana briefed the Supreme Council that 628 books of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri have been published in Urdu, Arabic and English to date. He said if the translation of the books is included, then the number goes up to 1200. He also threw light on the books published in one year. Shaykh Hammad Mustafa al-Madani was congratulated on his initiative to publish a quarterly magazine.
The members of Supreme Council felicitated Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Chairman Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri and President MQI Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri on the publication of their recent books and termed them as great addition into the existing body of knowledge on different subjects.
The participants of the meeting put forward suggestions to bring about tangible improvements in the various journals and magazines published under the banner of MQI. They also congratulated the organizers and relevant chapters for the successful conduct of Itikaf 2023, International Spiritual Conference, Quaid Day ceremonies, International Mawlid-un-Nabi Conference and the successful membership drive. The Secretary Supreme Council presented a report on the implementation status of the decisions taken in the previous meetings of SC as well as Central Consultative Council and the Standing Committees.
