Shaykh Hammad Unveils the “Path to Divine Love” at al-Hidayah Camp 2023

In a mesmerising kickoff lecture that left attendees spellbound, Shaykh Hammad Mustafa al-Madani al-Qadri illuminated the sacred grounds of the al-Hidayah Camp 2023 with his words of wisdom and spiritual insight. The heart of his discourse? The profound concept of "Divine Love."

"Divine Love," he emphasised, is not merely an emotion; it's a profound connection that encompasses love for Allah, His Messenger ﷺ, the Noble Household, the Companions, and the Awliya'. With eloquence, Shaykh Hammad painted a vivid picture of the ultimate destination: a remote mountainous city, a place known as the "City of the Beloved."

As he spoke, he likened the journey to this city to a treacherous path, full of hurdles and trials, much like the towering mountains that stand in the way. Undeterred, Shaykh Hammad elaborated on the seven origins of "al-mahabba," or love, in Arabic, tracing the etymology of this powerful word.

Quoting verses from the Holy Qur’an and sayings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, Shaykh Hammad unveiled the teachings about Divine Love from the divine sources themselves. He delved into the words of the pious and close friends of Allah, who have experienced this elevated state firsthand.

With fervour, he encouraged attendees to make a steadfast intention to embark on this transformative journey towards the Absolute Beloved. "Know that His love knows no bounds, for the Almighty Himself knows no bounds," Shaykh Hammad exclaimed. As one progresses, the heart becomes a cherished vessel chosen by Allah for His divine love.

A highlight of his lecture was the revelation that Divine Love is not passive; it desires acknowledgment and recognition. Allah, in His infinite glory, announces this love first in the heavens and then on earth. Just as Allah's existence is boundless, so is the love for His beloved servants—an eternal bond that continues to flourish.
