Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek regrets the deletion of sub-clause of Article 63

Anwar Akhtar Advocate, Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has said that the Constitution of 1973 has conferred the power of judicial review on the Supreme Court and it has the authority to review the legislative enactments and declare them null and void if found in contravention of the basic structure of the Constitution. He regretted the deletion of sub-clause of Article 63 under the recently adopted 18th Constitutional Amendment, saying that this is meant to neutralize the apex judiciary.
