Elimination of terrorism necessary for survival of future generations: Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Our society has come to be recognized worldwide by terrorist bomb blasts and suicide bombings which continue unabated across the country without any let or hindrance. While the masterminds of these dastardly attacks are perched in their comfort zones, the government and its law enforcement machinery seems helpless before the non-state actors who are bent upon wreaking havoc at any cost. The fact the government is unable to lay its hand on these outfits is distressing to say the least.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views during his address to an intellectual gathering through video conferencing from Canada, which was organized by Directorate of Media and Public Relations of MQI the other day. He said that the country was confronted with the worst form of terrorism. The terrorists are spreading mayhem irrespective of sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan and scourges wrought by the floods because they do not have any religion. He said that playing with human lives was sport of these beasts. He asked the people to remain vigilant. “Making efforts at individual and collective levels for eradication of terrorism is a must. This is a fight that we have to win at any cost, for it involves the future of our coming generations. We cannot and must not leave them at the mercy of these beasts who are bringing Islam into disrepute,” he added. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri highlighted the need of waging intellectual Jihad against the forces of extremism and terrorism, besides urging the government for formulation of short-, medium- and long-term anti terror policy.
