Minhaj ul Qur’an

An Introduction

Minhaj ul Qur'an is unique amongst organizations for many reasons. '.It is an organization that recognizes the causes of the current decline in humanity and proposes the most feasible solutions to its problems. The individual today is suffering from a sense of disintegration and cynicism. The diseases of immorality and obsessive materialism have led to disharmony pervading the whole of human existence. Worshipping the idols of racial, lingual and regional prejudices has become the norm. The nature of today's decline is multidimensional and requires an all embracing and all encompassing ideology that will revive all aspects of human living.

Minhaj ul Qur'an is clear and unambiguous in its objective. Its message is free of all bigotry, narrow mindedness, and intolerance. Its message is the universal message of Islam, the message of love, peace and worship of one God. It aims to spread the life- giving values of the Qur'an and Sunnah.

The prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) addresses you and invites: "Help my people who abandoned my path, the path of the pure and prosperous. Guide them. Lead them."

So what do we do? Either we can continue in this present impasse or we can rediscover the path of Islam through the Qur'an and the example of our Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and help to change the course for ourselves and humanity. This is the way of Minhaj ul Qur'an -'the Way of the Qur'an.'

OUR FIVE OBJECTIVES

One: Restoring our relationship with Allah (SWT)

True love and obedience to our Creator and Cherisher are required for us to gain closeness to Him. And thus be guided to the right path. Today this connection is fast diminishing from our hearts due to affection with this fleeting world. Minhaj ul Qur'an seeks to re- establish this relationship by taking Allah (SWT) as our point of reference.

Two: Restoring our relationship with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) exemplifies this ever nearness to Allah (SWT). He is the crown of creations, whose standards are divinely inspired and must be taken as the ultimate ideal. The path of righteousness leads only through him.

Three: Return to the Qur'an as 'The Criterion'

The Qur'an is the fountainhead of knowledge and wisdom. It provides solutions for all individual and social problems. Unfortunately today humanity is distant from its teachings. Minhaj ul Qur'an aims to inculcate Qur'anic teachings to empower people for success in both worlds.

Four: Helping to unite the Muslim Ummah

A primary aim of Minhaj ul Qur'an is the unity of the Ummah on the basis of absolute loyalty and reverence to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). It seeks to promote our identity as Muslims first and foremost rather than any other tide. Minhaj ul Qur'an has a defined strategy to unite the Ummah from the local to the global level.

Five: Restoring the Islamic Way of Life Globally

Minhaj-ul-Qur'an aims to eliminate the rift between the sacred and profane dimensions of life. It aims to rebuild human character through moral, spiritual and educational renewal, and give rise to ideological, scientific and economic revival with the establishment of an Islamic state. "

The Five Stages

Minhaj-ul-Qur'an presents five stages d1at will lead to d1e establishment of Islam as d1e ideal way of life for d1e individual and society.

One: Propagation (Da'wa)

This involves taking an active part in presenting Islam to f:uni1y, friends and the community at large.

Two: Organization

Members of Minhaj-ul-Qur'an are organized into societies that work from the local to international levels.

Three: Education

Members receive proper training in a comprehensive range of subjects to prepare them in their da'wa work from spiritual training to the study of philosophy and theology and personal character building (tarbiyah).

Four: Implementation

Members will lead by example, taking an active part i1'\ the society to carry out social and moral reform.

Five: Revival

Through the political implementation of Islam, ideological, moral, spiritual, social and economic revival can occur.

Organizational Set-Up

Idara Minhaj ul Qur'an

This the umbrella organization set up in 1981 by on~ of the greatest contemporary scholars of Islam. His Eminence Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri, under the spiritual guidance of As-Sayyad Tahir AIaaudin AI- Gilani AI Qadri (RA) in Pakistan. It is actively engaged at local and international levels to propagate Islam. It. is a non-governmental organization attracting people of all ages and walks of life.

Minhaj ul Qur'an Organizations Worldwide

These are now working in 92 countries of the world including UK, France, Germany, Holland, Greece, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Singapore, India, Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar Iran Malaysia, Bangladesh, Bunna, Jammu and Kashmir, Korea, Sri Lanka,

Zimbabwe.

Minhaj Religious and Spiritual Society

This promotes self-purification, spiritual excellence and purity of the soul through the establishment of Islamic centers worldwide. Study circles, conferences and dhikr gatherings with emphasis on moral teachings take place regularly.

Minhaj Welfare and Human Rights Society

This seeks to relieve the hardships of the poor and needy by arranging social and humanitarian projects such as free medical dispensaries, ambulance services, blood banks, orphanages and homes for destitute women as well as providing short term projects for natural disasters. Recently anew medical complex has been established in Lahore, which provides free or low cost healthcare to the poor.

Minhaj Education Society

To seek and learn knowledge is of paramount importance in Islam. The MES is seeking to establish 10,000 mass education projects in Pakistan with 1000's already created. An Islamic university, technological colleges, business schools, computer institutes as well as the Cordoba Institute of Technology have also been established.  

Pakistani Awami Tehreek (Pakistan People Movement) 

This is the political wing of Minhaj ul Qur'an (the largest opposition party in Pakistan) and is actively working to establish an Islamic state in Pakistan. The destiny of the Ummah can only be changed if Muslims have an international voice and political power to relieve the ongoing oppression and subjugation of Muslims around the world.

How to join and work with us?

Minhaj ul Qur'an caters for every type of person and tries to accommodate all who wish to work for the cause of Islam. Muslim Youth League (MYL) represents the younger Muslims and aims to educate them morally, spiritually and academically in "Order to prepare them for the future. Minhaj ul Qur'an Women's League and Men's League cater for the mature Muslims who have the passion and drive to propagate Islam.
